Motorcycling in the Finger Lakes

A group of motorcycles parks on U.S. Route 20 in the Villiage of Skaneateles in the Finger Lakes, New York, USA

The Finger Lakes is a great place to bike with open roads, rolling hills, and long views of the lakes. Although it's not safe to bike in the Finger Lakes during the winter, spring and summer are warm but not too often hot with plenty of sunny days. Fall is cool with the hillsides a tapestry of oranges, reds, greens, and yellows.

You'll find a wide variety of bikes in the Finger Lakes--BMWs, Yamahas, Kawasakis, and, of course, Harleys, where there are six dealers and three HOGs. Enjoy your ride.

The life, times, and achievements of mechanical genius Glenn Curtiss, holder of 87 patents, designer of bicycles, motorcycles, and airplanes. At one time, called the fastest man on earth for his ride, at 136 mph, on a cycle using an 8-cylinder, V-shaped, 40 hp engine of his own design.
